Job summary

Rogers McHugh Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a Central London role in the SE1 area, responsible for the commercial management of allocated construction projects and protecting project margins.

You will own procurement, valuations, variations and cost reporting, with CVRs and Cost to Complete expertise valued. A degree or HND in QS is preferred, with CIOB or RICS accreditation an advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction with strong commercial management and project delivery understanding.
• Comfort with subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, forecasting, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Experience producing CVRs and Cost to Complete reports; ability to monitor cash flow and profitability.
• Good understanding of construction contracts, measurement and commercial risks; strong client and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the commercial management of allocated construction projects.
• Manage procurement schedules, appoint subcontractors, negotiate packages and place orders for materials and plant.
• Manage valuations, variations and payments; ensure the financial position is accurately recorded and reported.
• Produce CVRs, Cost to Complete reports and financial forecasts for senior management.
• Identify commercial risks, resolve issues and protect project margins.
• Maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers; handle commercial discussions professionally.
• Support junior members of the commercial team and uphold commercial standards across the business.
