Job summary

Turnbull Infrastructure Utilities LTD is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead NEC contract delivery and drive commercial performance on major infrastructure projects in the UK. You will own commercial management, forecast and CVR preparation, and support procurement and subcontract administration.

The role requires significant QS experience, NEC expertise, and strong commercial acumen, with mentoring responsibilities for junior staff.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in construction/infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts including change management and compensation events.
• Proven experience in cost reporting, forecasting, CVRs and financial performance management.
• Experience managing subcontract procurement, administration and final accounts.
• Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial management of projects and drive best practice within the team.
• Manage NEC contracts from procurement to final account.
• Lead commercial administration of projects and work packages.
• Manage risk and opportunities to maximise project performance.
• Prepare and review forecasts, CVRs and cost reports.
• Maintain robust cost control and governance with accurate reporting.
• Manage compensation events, change control and subcontractor accounts.
• Prepare applications for payment and final accounts.
• Support procurement activities and subcontract management.
• Build strong relationships with client and stakeholder commercial teams.
• Provide commercial advice to project and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution as required.
• Mentor and develop Assistant and Quantity Surveyors.
