Job summary

Tetra Tech in Birmingham is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to deliver expert cost advice across infrastructure, commercial, residential, and government sectors. You will work on projects up to and beyond £100m, developing robust cost plans and advising on procurement strategies within a hybrid office model.

The role requires a degree in QS, RCIS progression, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Membership of or progress toward RICS (or similar).
• Experience delivering high-quality cost consultancy and knowledge of construction contracts.
• Excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset.
• SC clearance (or willingness to obtain) is required.

Responsibilities

• Cost Planning & Estimating: Develop robust cost plans using industry tools.
• Commercial Advisory: Provide strategic advice on design options and procurement routes.
• Contract & Project Management: Deliver full lifecycle cost management and contract administration.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Value Engineering & Risk Management: Identify opportunities to enhance value and manage risks.
