Job summary

Vistry Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost control and financial management on multiple residential developments. You will supervise the surveying team, advise on cost implications at design and procurement stages, and ensure budgets and payments are managed effectively.

You will collaborate with Land, Development and Construction teams, mentor junior surveyors, and drive cost efficiency while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.

Qualifications

• Proven PQS/SQS/Commercial lead experience on residential projects.
• Strong numerical and IT skills with budgeting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the surveying team and analysts.
• Attend design and procurement meetings to advise on cost implications.
• Prepare tender and cost analysis documents with accuracy.
• Manage budgets, cost controls and monthly cost reporting.
• Negotiate subcontractor prices within budget and schedule.

Education

HNC / HND in Surveying or equivalent

Degree in Surveying or similar

CIOB/RICS membership or working towards

Proven PQS/SQS/Commercial lead experience

Strong mathematical and IT ability

Excellent communications skills

Budget management
