Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its infrastructure team in the UK. You will lead commercial management across major projects, administer NEC contracts, and drive value through accurate cost control and procurement strategies.

With exposure to highways, rail, energy and utilities, you will mentor junior staff, manage risks, and contribute to business growth while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience as QS/Senior QS in infrastructure/construction.
• Strong pre- and post-contract commercial management.
• Experience administering NEC contracts.
• Knowledge of CESMM and highway measurement methods.
• Experience preparing procurement documents and ITT packages.
• Ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Proactive, solutions-focused with client development mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-contract QS services across infrastructure projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets, and commercial risks.
• Administer NEC contracts and advise on commercial matters.
• Prepare cost estimates, reports and financial assessments.
• Develop procurement strategies and ITT packages.
• Support tender assessments and contract negotiations.
• Apply CESMM and highway measurement standards.
• Identify value engineering and cost-efficiencies.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet budgets and timelines.
• Provide mentoring and leadership to junior team members.
• Contribute to client development and business growth.
