Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of civil earthworks and infrastructure projects across England. The role reports to the Senior Commercial Manager and involves steering multiple schemes, budgets, cost plans and cashflow from tender handover to final account.

You will mentor the commercial team, manage subcontract relationships, and drive value engineering while collaborating with operations and clients to deliver

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Professional membership (RICS, CICES or similar) or be working towards it.
• Around 10+ years’ experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or earthworks.
• Previous experience leading commercial teams.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Excellent commercial, financial and analytical skills.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring and developing the commercial team.
• Managing the commercial performance of multiple civil engineering and earthworks projects.
• Producing project budgets, cost plans and cash flow forecasts.
• Overseeing contractual matters and resolving commercial issues.
• Managing subcontract procurement and supply chain relationships.
• Preparing and presenting monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to maximise project profitability.
• Supporting tender submissions, pricing exercises and risk reviews.
• Working closely with operational teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Driving value engineering and continuous commercial improvement.
