Job summary

Progressive is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major HV cabling project in North London, coordinating commercial activities on NEC contracts across the lifecycle.

The role initially offers a part-time commitment (2 days/week) before ramping to full-time, with an approximate rate of £500/day outside IR35 and a programme spanning around four years. On-site work and strong stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts on major utility or HV projects.
• Proven ability to manage commercial function from inception to closeout.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and on-site coordination.
• Ability to forecast, cost manage and report on large-scale cabling programmes.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of a major National Grid HV cabling project.
• Administer and manage NEC contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Cost control, forecasting and reporting.
• Managing applications, valuations, variations, compensation events and final accounts.
• Subcontract procurement and commercial management.
• Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
• Liaising directly with client, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
• Maintaining robust commercial records and audit trails throughout the programme.
