Job summary

Vertical Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on major UK infrastructure projects, with a focus on electrical transmission and power distribution. Travel to Bury St Edmunds around two days per week will support complex utility works.

Qualifications

• Sector experience in infrastructure, utilities, power or electrical sectors.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Excellent financial management, negotiation and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and actual costs for high‑value infrastructure schemes.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts including compensation events and variations.
• Support pre-construction activities such as consents and PCSAs.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and advise on mitigations.
• Prepare cost plans and financial reports for clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers and subcontractors; perform site visits as needed.
