Job summary

VolkerHighways in Luton is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activity on key highway projects, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and cashflow management while safeguarding commercial interests with clients and the supply chain.

You will have an accredited qualification (RICS/CIOB/ICES) and proven highways/civil engineering experience, with NEC contracts knowledge and strong procurement and subcontract management skills.

Qualifications

• Accredited qualification with RICS, CIOB or ICES, or relevant degree/HND.
• Proven experience as a QS/Senior QS within highways or civil engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and term maintenance arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activity on allocated projects, ensuring forecasting, cost/value reporting and cashflow management.
• Manage procurement activities, develop subcontract documentation and oversee payments and contract compliance.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, designers and consultants; issue instructions and manage reporting.
