Job summary

Kier Group plc. in Waterbeach, Cambridge, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial resources on construction projects and maximise profitability. The role involves supervising subcontractors and valuing work to support invoicing and payments.

You will lead the project’s commercial team, assess risks, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results, requiring strong communication, organisation and IT proficiency.

Qualifications

• Clear communication across multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also using your own initiative
• Proficiency with IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke systems

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin and project profitability
• Appointing subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
• Leading and motivating the project's commercial staff to ensure collaborative relationships
• Assessing, controlling and mitigating commercial and contractual risks while implementing risk management policies
