Job summary

Kier Group plc. in Rainham, Essex, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the L&Q Major Works Investment Programme team. You will help manage the commercial and financial performance of projects within a major housing portfolio, supporting procurement, administration and robust tender processes.

The role focuses on building relationships with customers, contractors and suppliers, identifying risks, valuing work for invoicing, and ensuring the delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Diverse and clear communication with multidisciplinary teams, client teams and subcontractors.
• Experience within a similar role.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial and financial performance of assigned projects to maximise gross margin.
• Appointing contractors and subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities.
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Identifying contractual, commercial and operational risks and proposing mitigations.
