Job summary

Vertical Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for its specialist Data Centre team. The role spans pre-construction and construction phases, delivering commercial management across data centre developments on an international scale.

You will work with a team of experienced QSs, manage cost plans, procurement, tender analysis and change control, and support contract administration while collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams across the EMEA region.

Qualifications

• Experience in pre-construction and post-construction cost management.
• Data centre or large-scale technically complex projects preferred.
• Ability to manage commissions and commercial responsibilities independently.
• Knowledge of JCT, NEC and/or FIDIC contracts.
• MRICS chartership or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates and project budgets throughout pre-construction.
• Support procurement strategies, tender documentation, tender analysis and contractor appointments.
• Provide commercial advice throughout design development including value engineering and cost optimisation.
• Manage project cost reporting, cash flow forecasts and commercial risk.
• Review contractor applications, variations and change control during construction.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and reporting on cost performance.
• Support contract administration, commercial negotiations and final account agreements.
• Work with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams across EMEA projects.
• Support the successful commercial delivery of projects from inception through to completion.
