Job summary

Mercury is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on large-scale data centre projects in the UK. The role focuses on protecting margins, managing procurement, and coordinating with finance and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will have professional QS qualifications, strong contractual knowledge, and a track record of leadership in commercial roles on major construction ventures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in QS/Commercial role.
• Good level of legal awareness and competence in assessing contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Validate tender and construction budgets to ensure margins.
• Advise Project Managers on administration aspects including site instructions and forecasting.
• Oversee procurement process from inception to completion within budget.
• Prepare and review contracts and tenders for commercially advantageous outcomes.
• Manage sub-contractor and supplier variations and risk mitigation.
• Monitor project cash-flow and internal procedures per Authority Matrix.
