Job summary

Leo Force is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on a major civil infrastructure project in East Sussex. You will ensure financial performance, contractual compliance and delivery on highway and bridge works.

You will mentor juniors, control costs, prepare estimates and forecasts, certify payments, and negotiate variations, while upholding quality, safety and environmental standards. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
• Strong background in civil engineering projects
• Experience working with NEC forms of contract
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong numeracy and IT capability
• Proactive, innovative, and solutions-focused mindset
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Provide support and mentorship to junior team members
• Maximise profitability across contracts
• Monitor and control costs against budgets
• Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and forecasts
• Assess and certify interim and final subcontractor payments
• Prepare, negotiate, and agree contract variations
• Assist with dispute resolution (e.g. adjudications and arbitrations)
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
