Job summary

Carrington West in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on highways and civil engineering projects. You will work with the Commercial Manager and project teams to drive profitability and manage risk across a diverse portfolio.

This permanent role offers a hybrid pattern with office/site days, ongoing professional development, and clear progression within a growing contractor. £55k-£60k salary plus benefits awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management.
• Experience managing subcontract procurement, valuations, forecasting, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent commercial awareness.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Desirable highways, infrastructure or civil engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of multiple civil engineering and highways projects.
• Administer NEC contracts, including change management and compensation events.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment, cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Procure and manage subcontractors, including negotiations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and risks to maximise performance.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver on time and on budget.
• Mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and support team development.
