Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for civil engineering works in Elgin, Moray, Scotland, supporting the ASTI Tracks programme. You will lead commercial and contractual management across access tracks, earthworks, drainage and related works while liaising with site teams to control costs and ensure programme delivery.

The role requires a strong civil engineering background, NEC contract knowledge, and proven experience in cost management, variations and subcontract

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step.
• Strong civil engineering background, particularly in earthworks, groundworks, road construction, drainage or infrastructure projects.
• Good working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial contract administration.
• Experience managing subcontractors, procurement, valuations and final accounts.
• Strong cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting skills.
• Ability to work with site teams and manage multiple work packages.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• CSCS card is required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial and contractual management of civil engineering works across the ASTI Tracks programme.
• Manage commercial delivery of access track construction, earthworks, drainage and associated civil packages.
• Prepare budgets, cost forecasts, valuations and cost-to-complete reports.
• Identify and manage variations, compensation events and commercial risks.
• Administer contracts and maintain commercial records in NEC framework.
• Monitor progress with site teams and support cash flow reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and value across the programme.
• Ensure compliance with governance, safety and quality standards.
