Job summary

Balfour Beatty – Regional Scotland is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong civil engineering background to support the ASTI Tracks programme in Elgin, Moray. You will lead commercial and contract activities across access tracks, earthworks and drainage, coordinating with site teams to ensure value delivery and compliant reporting.

Experience in NEC contracts, subcontractor management and cost forecasting is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering.
• Experience with earthworks, drainage, roads or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial contract administration.
• Experience managing subcontractors, procurement, valuations and final accounts.
• Strong cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting skills.
• Able to collaborate with site teams and manage multiple packages.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Hold a valid CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial and contractual management of civil works across the ASTI Tracks programme.
• Manage budgets, cost forecasts, valuations and cost-to-complete reports.
• Identify and manage variations, compensation events and commercial risks.
• Procure subcontractors, conduct tender evaluations and negotiate terms.
• Administer NEC-based contracts and maintain accurate records.
• Work with site teams to monitor progress and costs.
• Prepare applications for payment and support cash flow reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance across the programme.
• Ensure compliance with BB governance, safety and quality standards.
