BAM Nuttall is seeking experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our team. You will contribute to large civil engineering projects across Scotland, primarily within the energy infrastructure sector, including building substations and HVDC converter stations supporting Scotland's transition to net zero. Initial work will be based out of our offices in Inverness and Kilsyth, followed by on-site project delivery.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Manage diverse projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness while adding value.
• Collaborate on joint venture projects and build productive relationships.
• Negotiate contracts to optimize project profitability.
• Mentor teams and improve operational capabilities.
• Demonstrate excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Multitask effectively to meet deliverables without compromising quality.
• Supervise and mentor your reports within the commercial team.
• Manage commercial contacts with clients and supply chain partners, including pre-contract meetings, vetting, and subcontract documentation.
• Oversee subcontractor management and monitor cost performance data.
• Produce and present monthly and quarterly reports.
• Ensure timely production of payment applications in accordance with contract conditions.
• Provide commercial advice and handle contractual issues on-site.
• Assess insurance claims financially with insurers.
• Manage your time and workload efficiently within the team.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or at Quantity Surveyor level aiming for advancement, with core commercial skills.
• Experience with NEC contracts.
• Ability to mentor and coach team members.
• Strong collaborative skills with clients, project managers, and designers.
• Confidence to work within a team and positively influence outcomes.
• Desirable: Experience with Early Contractor Involvement and target cost contracts.
