Job Description:

Wood Transmission and Distribution is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial area of our growing business! As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.

This role offers flexibility as a hybrid position, working from home, site, and ideally our Glasgow office.

This position is ideal for an experienced and commercially-minded Senior Quantity Surveyor from a civils/infrastructure background, although this experience is not essential. The candidate should have a broad project portfolio, ideally including construction projects, and be skilled in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting. The role involves working with a client, SSE, on a contract, with opportunities to engage in various transmission and distribution projects across Scotland.

The successful candidate will provide commercial support on financial and contractual matters, including post-award contract administration, project planning, costs analysis, cash flow forecasting, subcontracting strategies, and project reviews. The role involves monitoring projects from construction start-up through execution, ensuring performance within budgets and identifying entitlement issues.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects supporting overhead lines and network capacity expansion, crucial for UK government targets and the transition to net zero. Join us to be part of a team making a significant impact in the industry.

We offer:

  • Meaningful projects in emerging energy sectors.
  • Flexible working arrangements including hybrid and remote options.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: actively promoting an inclusive work environment.
  • Competitive salary with regular reviews.
  • Flexible benefits including generous leave, pension, medical cover, and life insurance.
  • Professional development tailored to your needs.
  • Global networking opportunities with industry experts worldwide.

If interested, review the responsibilities and requirements below, then apply to start your journey with Wood.

We are committed to equal opportunities and attracting diverse talent to our team.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, with a professional qualification preferred.

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Significant experience in a QS or Senior QS role, preferably in transmission and distribution overhead lines, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Understanding of corporate and project procedures.
  • Proven experience in contract administration and change management.

This opportunity offers excellent benefits and regular salary reviews. Apply today to advance your career. #LI-Hybrid
