Wood Transmission and Distribution is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial area of our growing business! As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.
This role offers flexibility as a hybrid position, working from home, site, and ideally our Glasgow office.
This position is ideal for an experienced and commercially-minded Senior Quantity Surveyor from a civils/infrastructure background, although this experience is not essential. The candidate should have a broad project portfolio, ideally including construction projects, and be skilled in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting. The role involves working with a client, SSE, on a contract, with opportunities to engage in various transmission and distribution projects across Scotland.
The successful candidate will provide commercial support on financial and contractual matters, including post-award contract administration, project planning, costs analysis, cash flow forecasting, subcontracting strategies, and project reviews. The role involves monitoring projects from construction start-up through execution, ensuring performance within budgets and identifying entitlement issues.
