Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a solid grounding in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) packages? Then perhaps you can make your mark on HMP Glasgow, one of Scotland's largest construction projects, conveniently located approximately 10 miles North East of Glasgow city center. We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our HMP Glasgow team, working within the MEP department.

This could be your chance to be involved in delivering a modern, new-build custodial facility that is secure, energy-efficient, and high-specification, designed for 200 inmates and staff.

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Responsibilities include:

1. Advising on legal and contractual matters concerning orders and changes
2. Valuing project and subcontract progress
3. Managing subcontractor administration, including agreeing final accounts
4. Producing notices such as commencement and payment notices
5. Undertaking monthly cost reports, creating commercial plans, and external client reports as required
6. Producing progress reports and maintaining project records
7. Managing project cash flows and turnover forecasts
8. Reporting and managing risks and opportunities
9. Developing margin improvement plans and driving profitability
10. Supporting the team in maximizing commercial understanding and opportunities
11. Approving material purchases, ensuring all commercial risks and opportunities are considered
12. Updating all commercial tasks and reports monthly

The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is ideal if you can demonstrate:

1. Degree or HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
2. Experience working on high-value MEP packages within main contracting or specialist M&E contracting environments
3. Understanding of main contract forms such as JCT and NEC
4. Technical knowledge of MEPH services, system components, and package interfaces
5. Full UK driving license
