A leading contractor in Northern Ireland is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This role involves managing costs on social housing projects, with primary responsibilities including cost preparation, analysis, and maintaining sub-contractor relationships. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying and possess extensive experience in the UK or NI market, particularly in social housing contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7-8 years’ experience in UK or NI as Quantity Surveyor.
• Experience with NI Social Housing Contracts is essential.
• Motivated, driven team player with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, negotiate and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
• Manage and value variations, as well as prepare interim valuations.
• Track design changes and produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation.

Job Title – Senior Quantity Surveyor

Project – Social Housing

Job Location – NI Based

Salary – £55K - £65K + package

About the Company:

A well-established family run contractor involved in several sectors and projects such as social housing are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team!

They have recently been awarded a number of social housing contract in Northern Ireland, so a very exciting time to join the company!

A fantastic opportunity with a well-established contractor to gain further guidance from a great management team!

The Role:

• Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
• Procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of sub-contractor order documentation
• Assessing and certification of sub-contractor interim payments
• Preparation of Interim valuations and final account
• Managing and valuing variations
• Assist in the production of pre-contract take-off, interim valuation and final account.
• Tracking design changes as a project evolves
• Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on contracts
• Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with subcontractors and site staff
• Plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by teams, individuals and yourself
• Attend site meetings when required.

Requirements:

• Hold Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management.
• 7-8+ years’ experience with a Main Contractor or Subcontractor in the UK or NI.
• Experience working in NI Social Housing Contracts required.
• Motivated, driven and works well within team
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word
• Flexible to work in the office and visit sites weekly.
• Clean Drivers License.
• Excellent communication skills.
