Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Quantity Surveyor.
  • Experience in power, gas, and/or water distribution networks is desirable.

Project Quantity Surveyor – Cambridge (Remote)

Our team in Cambridge is expanding, and we’re excited to welcome a skilled Project Quantity Surveyor to join us!

As a Project Quantity Surveyor working under the UKPS brand at Last Mile, you’ll report to the Construction Manager and play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial performance of new connection projects during the construction phase. This involves close collaboration with Project Managers and the Finance team to ensure accuracy, transparency, and budget alignment.

In addition, you’ll serve as a crucial link between Construction and Finance, supporting a range of financial reporting needs and offering valuable insights to the Estimating team on any purchase price variances encountered.

Your responsibilities as a Project Quantity Surveyor:
  • Assist PMs to understand/highlight in more detail the financial performance of their projects.
  • Drive the forecast/cost to complete process with PMs so that variances to budget are communicated to Project Finance as early as possible in the delivery cycle.
  • Ensure FM206 process is completed against variations from budget that cannot be recouped following a project forecast, providing feedback to the Finance and estimating teams where required.
  • Provide detailed financial information to the Project Finance team for budget amendments and production of month-end management reports.
  • Regularly review project invoicing to ensure the timely issue of customer invoices.
  • Liaise with the Streetworks team to understand civil subcontractor costs, ensuring any anomalies are swiftly actioned.
Experience / Knowledge:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Quantity Surveyor.
  • Previous experience of power, gas, and/or water distribution networks (desirable).
Qualifications:
  • HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent discipline.
  • Anti-bribery training.
