Building a sustainable tomorrow

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth, where we are the preferred contractor for heavy civil engineering construction in and around the Royal Navy dockyard.

Due to the site being a high security military navy base, additional security checks will be required - BPSS/SC clearance is necessary, which can take up to 8 weeks. Only candidates with EU & NATO passports can be considered.

Your mission

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a £40m package of works at a Nuclear licensed site, mentoring junior QS staff.
• Providing financial and contractual forecasts to management to meet business KPIs.
• Maximizing cash flow, ensuring timely payments.
• Preparing and reviewing monthly cost reports, monitoring spend against budgets.
• Physical measurement of works, agreement with clients and subcontractors.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, including enquiries, negotiations, and payments.
• Assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
• Client-facing role requiring excellent communication skills.

Candidate requirements

• Experience with NEC Contracts; CEMAR experience preferred but not essential.
• Experience with Coins / Causeway systems.
• Full UK driving license, Degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, ICE) preferred.
