Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Bridgwater

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for commercial management of site activities, supervising junior team members and supporting the Commercial Manager/Project Manager to ensure margins are maintained and risks are managed.

Main Responsibilities

1. Be responsible for management of commercial activities on site:
2. Ensure the timely submission of EWNs, CEs and other notifications under the Contract
3. Establish and maintain registers for contractual notifications
4. Prepare quotations for CEs once agreed in principle
5. Support the planners with preparing contractual programmes
6. Support/manage Applications for Payment
7. Support the drafting and negotiation of subcontracts
8. Contract administration of subcontractors and suppliers
9. Supervise junior team members and support their continuous development
10. Support Bilfinger's financial timetable and internal and client reporting requirements
11. Undertake forecasting, CVRs and other project reporting requirements
12. Optimise profitability - evidenced by improvements in margins of projects against budget
13. Minimise company's liabilities by providing support and advice to site team in respect of contractual obligations, notices and remedies
14. Support valuation, application and invoicing process and the review and certification processes of subcontractor account

Role Qualifications

Essential

• Minimum HNC or equivalent in engineering, quantity surveying or similar

Desirable

• Professional / post graduate commercial, business or management qualification. Membership of appropriate professional body
