General Responsibilities

- Develop an understanding of High Voltage Power Systems from a civil construction perspective.
- Follow all relevant guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain and develop technical skills to ensure high standards of delivery.
- Mentor team members and report to the commercial manager on civil commercial activities.
- Participate in training to stay updated on processes and procedures.
Commercial Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities and tenders for civil projects.
- Provide employer requirements to civil contractors and request quotations.
- Review tenders technically and negotiate subcontractor terms.
- Manage project cash flow, milestones, and risk registers.
- Ensure stakeholder sign-off on subcontracts and review employer’s civil requirements.
- Assist in drafting and approve civil subcontracts, including credit terms.
- Conduct monthly financial reviews of civil subcontracts and mentor the civil team from a commercial perspective.
- Collaborate with project assistants and resolve disputes related to civil contracts.
Tendering
- Contribute to bids for civil construction projects, including grid connection and private network infrastructure up to 132kV.
- Work with the design team on civil layout drawings and create/update tender templates.
- Review technical scope of tenders and draft technical descriptions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Commercial Assistant or Quantity Surveyor in grid connections or similar.
- Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders, with excellent communication and management skills.
- Proven track record in contract management, budgeting, and cashflow management.
- Strong understanding of business finances, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn new skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and project management software.
Desirable
- Masters in Business Administration, IoD Course, or Finance Management Course.
