Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Python) to join our product and engineering team. You will design and build robust APIs, evolve backend systems, and work with multiple data sources to deliver scalable solutions.

You may contribute to frontend work to enhance user experiences and mentor teammates. The role emphasises ownership from inception to delivery, collaboration across disciplines, and applying AI tooling to improve development workflows.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Python and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience designing APIs, ideally with GraphQL.
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals and scalable backend design.
• Proven collaboration within cross-functional teams.
• Experience using AI tech/tools to augment development.
• Ownership of features from inception to delivery.
