Job summary

Swansway Group is recruiting a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to lead the purchase ledger team across our group of dealerships based in Crewe and the surrounding region. You will supervise Clerks, coach staff, and ensure timely payment of supplier invoices while maintaining accurate ledger records.

You will report to the Dealership Accountant, oversee month-end close, manage intercompany reconciliations, and provide concise reporting. Experience in Sage or Kerridge/Keyloop is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Purchase ledger experience of 3–5 years.
• Supervisory experience of at least 2 years within purchase ledger.
• Leadership and development skills are essential.
• Excellent computer skills, including Excel formulas.
• Ability to handle large invoice amounts.
• System knowledge of Sage and Kerridge OR Keyloop is highly advantageous.
• Experience with multi-site organisations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Purchase ledger Clerks across group dealerships.
• Provide training through 1:1 and group coaching sessions.
• Allocate workload and supervise team members.
• Ensure team follows business processes.
• Oversee processing of supplier invoices.
• Ensure invoices are coded to the correct departments.
• Prepare payment runs on a large scale.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage month-end purchase ledger close activities.
• Maintain accurate accounts and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Manage cash flow and report spend by dealership.
• Present accurate reporting and data to the Dealership Accountant.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations.
• Maintain GRNI at an acceptable level.
