Job summary

First Bus are hiring a Master Technician at Caledonia Depot in Glasgow. You will diagnose and resolve vehicle faults, support diagnostic equipment updates and provide on-site guidance to engineering teams.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll work a 37-hour week with negotiable start/finish times, and you may attend training away from home. A UK driving licence and strong IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• Level 4 hybrid EV training completed.
• Minimum Level 3 SVQ/NVQ in PSV or HGV mechanics.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Good IT literacy and ability to use diagnostic tools.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.
• Willingness to attend training away from home.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve vehicle faults.
• Support updates to diagnostic equipment.
• Provide on-site guidance and training to engineering teams.
• Share technical information and best practices with colleagues.
• Attend training courses to maintain knowledge.
• Report to Engineering Manager and collaborate with Head of Engineering on future projects.
