Job summary

FirstGroup plc is seeking a skilled Master Technician for the Glasgow Caledonia Depot. The role focuses on diagnosing faults, supporting diagnostic equipment, and delivering on-site training to engineering teams in a busy depot environment.

You will report to the Engineering Manager, collaborate with senior engineers on future projects, and participate in ongoing training to maintain technical excellence. UK relocation is not indicated; candidates should be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Level 4 hybrid EV training is required.
• Minimum SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in PSV or HGV mechanics.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Good IT literacy and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to attend training away from home when required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve vehicle faults as part of the Engineering team.
• Support updates to diagnostic equipment and provide on-site guidance and training.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices with colleagues and attend training to stay current.
• Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with the Head of Engineering on projects.
