Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of a project within Hitachi Rail. You will lead project delivery against time, cost and quality objectives, providing clear direction to multidisciplinary teams and maintaining governance, reporting and control throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex projects on time and budget.
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Ability to present project performance to senior leaders and customer representatives.
• Experience with governance, planning, scheduling, risk and change control.

Responsibilities

• Taking overall responsibility for project delivery performance against time, cost and quality objectives.
• Providing direction, leadership and motivation to the project team.
• Ensuring delivery follows Hitachi Rail’s governance and control processes.
• Managing project plans, schedules, resources, risks, opportunities and reporting.
• Managing change, variations and claims against the baseline.
• Supporting achievement of KPIs including revenue, cash and EBIT.
• Building relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Providing concise project performance information to senior managers and customers.
• Investigating cost variances and supporting corrective action.
• Coaching and developing less-experienced Project Managers.
• Collaborating with the PMO and other functions to ensure outcomes.
