A major national client organisation is seeking a Senior Project Manager based in Birmingham. This role involves overseeing delivery planning and contract preparation for rail systems packages, managing contractors, and ensuring project requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in train depot or control centre projects with a solid background in stakeholder management and risk analysis. The position offers hybrid working, a competitive salary, and flexible hours.
Birmingham (commutable from Solihull, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Lichfield, and surrounding areas)
£80,000pa - £120,000pa DOE + 33 days holiday + Hybrid Working + Flexible Hours
Full-time / Permanent - 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri)
Hybrid - 3 days in office
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in the construction of train depots or rail control centre projects, looking to play a leading role in one of the most significant infrastructure programmes in the UK?
This is an opportunity to join a major national client organisation at a pivotal moment as it moves into contract award for large scale systems packages. You will help shape the delivery of complex works that will bring advanced rail technology to the UK network and support the future operations of a landmark high‑speed railway.
The role sits within the client project team overseeing the design and construction of a major rolling‑stock maintenance depot and integrated control centre in Birmingham. This facility will act as the primary base for the new fleet and bring together a wide range of disciplines, creating a highly engaging and technically varied delivery environment.
You will take responsibility for contract preparation and delivery planning, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure scope, cost, time and quality targets are met. This includes managing contractors, overseeing assurance and governance, monitoring change, and ensuring your project integrates effectively with adjacent programmes. You will have the freedom to influence decisions, drive solutions and play an active role in a collaborative integrated team.
