Job summary

McBains Limited in Manchester is seeking a Project Manager for the MBS team to lead multiple projects across sectors, including government and defence. The role is based on site at Manchester, with UK travel as needed, and requires extensive pre- and post-contract experience.

You will mentor colleagues and contribute to APC training while delivering projects, managing client expectations and co-ordinating with the design and delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project management.
• Ability to manage client-facing roles across multiple sectors.
• Experience with public and private sector clients.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Excellent verbal, numerical, and proposal writing skills.
• Strong negotiation and deadline-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day delivery of projects.
• Engage with clients and grow relationships.
• Establish processes and systems for projects.
• Change management assessment, tracking and reporting.
• Manage risk and value management.
• Coordinate with supply chain and procurement.
• Liaise with client, contractors, and designers.
• Manage sub-consultants and chair meetings.
