Job summary

McBains in Manchester is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Manchester-based PM team. You will lead day-to-day delivery of projects, manage client relationships, and oversee multi-sector projects including government and defence.

The role requires 5+ years’ experience, strong contract knowledge (JCT/NEC), and UK travel. You will mentor colleagues, support APC training, and operate within a hybrid/on-site environment at McBains in Manchester.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years' experience in project management.
• Self-motivated and client-facing with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience in government, blue light and defence sectors.
• Extensive pre- and post-contract experience with public & private sector clients.
• Willingness to travel within the UK.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day delivery of projects.
• Engage with Clients and develop/maintain Client relationships.
• Establish processes and systems to use across projects.
• Change management assessment, tracking and reporting.
• Manage Risk processes and Value Management.
• Work with supply chain and implement procurement.
• Liaise with client, contractors, and designers.
• Manage sub-consultants.
• Attend and chair meetings.
