Job summary

Mace is seeking a Project Manager to lead medium to large-scale construction and infrastructure projects in Manchester. You will drive projects from design through handover, coordinating clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to deliver on time, to budget and to quality standards.

The role requires on-site attendance four days a week with one day of flexible/home working, strong risk and change-control practices, and a focus on safety and continuous improvement across project teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Project Manager role delivering medium to large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and governance.
• Experience managing projects through the construction delivery phase.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Managing project delivery from initial planning through design, construction and handover.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Developing and maintaining project programmes, schedules and delivery plans.
• Monitoring performance against milestones, budgets and quality standards.
• Identifying, managing and mitigating project risks and issues.
• Managing project meetings and providing clear reporting on progress and decisions.
• Overseeing change control processes and ensuring governance requirements are met.
• Managing consultant and contractor appointments, fees, deliverables and performance.
• Championing safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensuring robust quality management processes are implemented.
