Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting for a Project Manager to lead the East West Rail package from our Milton Keynes base. You will drive planning, co-ordination and delivery, ensuring safety, quality and performance across design and construction teams.

Reporting to the Project Leadership, you will manage milestones, risks, dependencies and client relationships, while collaborating with the commercial team to monitor change and project value.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree or similar qualification is required.
• Temporary Works & self-delivery experience is essential.
• Experience leading & managing teams of Engineers is required.
• Approximately 10–15 years' experience in Civil Engineering (delivery) is expected.
• Infrastructure experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of your project or package of works.
• Provide strong leadership to the project team, driving a positive health, safety and quality culture.
• Develop and manage the construction programme, identifying key milestones, risks and dependencies.
• Coordinate site operations, ensuring labour, plant, materials and subcontractors are effectively planned and managed.
• Work closely with design and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure construction requirements are considered throughout delivery.
• Build strong working relationships with the client, supply chain and wider project stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with the commercial team to understand project performance, manage change and maintain commercial awareness.
• Manage project risks and opportunities, taking early action where issues could impact programme, cost, quality or safety.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, designs and quality requirements.
• Lead project meetings, reporting and communication, providing clear visibility of progress and upcoming priorities.
