Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to join our Capital Delivery Project Engineering team. You will develop project briefs, engage stakeholders, and oversee works at Thames Water sewage treatment sites in the Thames Valley.

You’ll ensure compliance with scope, asset standards and safety regulations, while supporting de-risking, design, and handover activities. Hybrid work from Reading with office/on-site duties.

Qualifications

• Experience developing technical project solutions and briefs.
• Good understanding of project delivery within process industries.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate development of clear project briefs from Asset Management needs.
• Engage with stakeholders to agree technical solutions.
• Oversee projects across Thames Water sewage treatment works in the Thames Valley.
• Identify project risks and coordinate mitigation activities.
• Support technical reviews through definition, design, and handover phases.
• Provide design sign-off between Asset Management and Capital Delivery.
• Conduct technical assurance checks on contractor activities during construction.
• Ensure compliance with scope, asset standards, and regulations.
• Support delivery through risk management and best-value decisions.
• Mentor colleagues for development and continuous improvement.
