Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Capital Delivery Project Engineering team in Reading. You will oversee projects from definition through handover, ensuring safe, compliant and best-value solutions, while coaching colleagues and supporting continuous improvement.

This hybrid role requires an HNC or higher in engineering, experience delivering process-industry projects, and Chartered status or progress toward it.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience developing technical project solutions and/or engineering briefs.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements within construction (CDM).
• Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership.
• Experience with wastewater and sludge treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development of clear project briefs from Asset Management.
• Engage with stakeholders and support optioneering to agree appropriate technical solutions.
• Oversee projects across sewage treatment works within the Thames Valley.
• Identify project risks and coordinate proportionate mitigation activities.
• Provide technical assurance checks during design and construction.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and asset standards.
• Provide technical assurance during delivery and handover.
• Mentor colleagues and support continuous improvement.
