Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead procurement across Power T&D Scotland programmes, translating business objectives into procurement and supply chain strategies for work winning and delivery.

You will report to the Head of Procurement, lead a team of Procurement Managers, and align governance, performance and supplier capability with customer requirements across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Significant procurement leadership experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction or major projects.
• Proven experience leading procurement across multiple projects or portfolios.
• Strong strategic sourcing, supplier management and commercial negotiation experience.
• Experience supporting work winning, preconstruction, mobilisation and project delivery.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders in governance-led environments.
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Own procurement strategy and performance across the portfolio and translate priorities into delivery plans.
• Shape routes to market, supplier engagement and aggregation opportunities using market intelligence.
• Lead negotiations and high‑value procurement activities with clear options and recommendations.
• Develop leadership and capability across Procurement Managers, Buyers and Graduates.
• Provide strategic procurement advice to Operations, Commercial and Project leadership.
• Maintain governance, audit readiness and adherence to delegated authorities.
