Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead procurement strategy for Power Transmission & Distribution projects in Derby. You will manage supplier relationships, drive cost efficiencies, and align sourcing with project objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, you’ll collaborate with Commercial, legal teams and stakeholders, mentor procurement staff, and ensure compliance with NEC contracts and health and safety standards. Travel across the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Previous project experience in Power or Construction with materials suppliers and subcontractors.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with proven negotiation track record.
• Business degree; MCIPS or studying towards; equivalent experience desired.
• Willingness to travel UK for supplier visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Support tendering processes across projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and policies.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance against contracts and schedules.
• Support contract negotiations with commercial and legal teams.
• Ensure procurement processes meet health, safety and sustainability standards.
• Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers; manage delivery schedules.
