Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for our client in Randburg, Gauteng. You will lead the design, development and optimization of complex energy process systems, driving safety, efficiency and environmental performance across projects.

Responsibilities include feasibility studies, process simulations (Aspen HYSYS, UniSim), documenting P&IDs and PFDs, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process engineering in the energy sector.
• Experience in process design, simulation (Aspen HYSYS, UniSim), and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, battery storage).

Requirements

• Proven experience in process design, simulation (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim), and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (e.g., solar, wind, battery storage) and their associated processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Experience with safety protocols and regulatory compliance in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with advanced process control strategies is a plus.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or equivalent is highly desirable.
