Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for a Randburg, Gauteng facility. The role focuses on optimizing existing chemical processes, developing new manufacturing methods, and ensuring safe, sustainable production of high-value specialty chemicals.

You will work in a hybrid setup with on-site collaboration with operations and R&D teams. You should have an MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering with 7+ years of experience, strong knowledge of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and DOE.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 7 years in process engineering within the chemical industry, preferably specialty chemicals.
• Proven track record in process optimization, troubleshooting, and scale-up.
• Strong knowledge of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead process optimization projects to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.

Our client, a dynamic producer of specialty chemicals, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer for their facility in Randburg, Gauteng. This role involves a hybrid work arrangement, requiring regular on-site engagement with operations and R&D teams, complemented by remote flexibility for planning and analysis. You will be instrumental in optimizing existing chemical processes, developing new manufacturing methods, and ensuring the efficient, safe, and sustainable production of high-value chemical products. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, advanced process control, and troubleshooting complex manufacturing challenges. • Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing site and remote duties.


• Familiarity with statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).


• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) is highly desirable.
