Placements24 seeks a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to lead design, development and implementation of renewable energy systems in East London, Eastern Cape. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of renewable energy systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for potential renewable energy projects.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure project success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, technicians, and external stakeholders.
• Perform detailed technical analysis, including energy production estimates and performance modeling.
• Oversee the procurement and installation of equipment, ensuring quality control and safety protocols are strictly adhered to.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during project execution or operation.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements and emerging technologies in the renewable energy field.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on project engineering and management.
• Proven experience with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, wind turbines, or hydropower technologies.
• Strong understanding of grid integration, power systems, and energy storage solutions.
• Proficiency in relevant design and simulation software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, ETAP).
• Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with South African energy regulations and standards is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Eastern Cape region as needed.
