Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer to solve complex system-of-systems challenges on major programmes at Basildon. You will lead work packages across the lifecycle, coordinating with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The role requires deep systems engineering expertise, the ability to plan, schedule, and mentor others, and readiness to travel overseas for short periods. Hybrid working and a broad benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in systems engineering across lifecycle.
• Strong verbal and written communication, presenting work clearly.
• Knowledge in Radar, Electro-optics, C2 software, ICT or networked systems.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and suppliers to define the overall solution and own elements of the detailed solution.
• Create and agree top-level system architecture/design documents with stakeholders.
• Ensure design integrity is cascaded to subsystems and subcontractors.
• Lead verification and validation activities and document outcomes.
• Oversee system/sub-system fault-finding and integration testing under tight deadlines.
• Assist with certification activities and safety reviews as needed.
