Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer to deliver CUAS-focused system-of-systems solutions from Basildon, UK. You will lead multiple work packages, coordinate with customers and suppliers, and drive system architecture and verification throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires an Engineering degree and extensive systems engineering experience, with domain knowledge in radar, electro-optics, C2 software, ICT, or networked systems.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience across the Systems Engineering lifecycle from bid to support.
• Domain knowledge in Radar, Electro-optics, C2 software, ICT or networked systems.
• Experience in verification, validation, and safety reviews.
• Willing to travel short periods overseas (<1 month).

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to shape the overall solution.
• Create and approve top-level system architecture/design documentation.
• Ensure design integrity requirements flow to subsystems and subcontractors.
• Lead verification, validation, and system/sub-system fault-finding activities.
• Support certification activities for the overall solution and sub-elements.
