Job summary

Birmingham Children’s Trust is recruiting a Senior Practitioner for the Fostering Service to lead on kinship initiatives and a Mockingbird-style support scheme, while assuring quality and policies across the service.

You will support Heads of Service on national reforms and enhanced carer support, ensuring safeguarding and welfare of children remains central, with hybrid working in Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Leadership in social work practice at an operational level.
• Strong knowledge of Kinship fostering and SG0 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing the Mockingbird-type support scheme for the Fostering service.
• Quality assure practice across the team and drive policy development.
• Support Heads of Service on new initiatives and kinship service developments.
• Focus on recruitment, support and retention of foster carers and voice of the child and carers.
