Job summary

Expleo Group in the UK is recruiting a Lead Engineer - Powertrain Controls Embedded Software to work at our state-of-the-art facility in Norfolk on a permanent basis. You will help strengthen powertrain controls, support programme delivery, and provide technical direction across the department.

You will manually author C-code for engine and transmission control, develop calibration procedures, and guide calibration engineers while coordinating testing and emissions work.

Qualifications

• Ideally educated to Degree or HNC level or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience with authoring manual C-code software for engine management.
• Deep understanding of powertrain control strategies and calibration processes.
• Strong knowledge of emissions, OBD and regulatory requirements for high-performance apps.
• Experience with calibration tools and calibration management systems.
• Proven track record delivering senior-level calibration and powertrain programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manual C-code for engine and transmission control, including algorithm design, testing and calibration.
• Develop engine control strategies to meet emissions and performance targets.
• Create and modify calibration procedures using calibration tools.
• Integrate powertrain controls into vehicle electrical systems and supporting manufacturing.
• Coordinate emissions-related testing and participate in off-site climatic testing.
• Lead smaller programmes, prepare documentation and contribute to proposals.
• Support chief engineers, suppliers, and customers, specifying ECUs and I/O for new systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to safety and engineering processes.
