Job summary

Expleo Group is seeking a Powertrain Design Engineer for an inside IR35 contract based at a client site in Surrey. The role covers design, development, validation, and delivery of powertrain systems across driveline, engine, and transmission components.

Responsibilities include delivering technical specs, leading APQP processes, supporting prototype builds, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to meet cost and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Electrical Engineering (2:1 or above).
• Extensive automotive powertrain experience.
• Experience with APQP, DFMEA and risk analysis.
• Proven track record delivering driveline components.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery of powertrain systems from concept to production.
• Develop and manage specifications, FMEAs, DVPs, and test plans.
• Support prototype and series vehicle builds and testing.
• Collaborate with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, purchasing, programmes).
• Identify and mitigate risks and drive robust resolutions.
• Prepare documentation for milestone reviews.
