Job summary

GE Vernova in Edinburgh seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer for our Wide Area Monitoring, Protection and Control (WAMPAC) Centre of Excellence. You will lead design and analysis within the core WAMS and WAMPAC products and liaise with customers.

The role covers research leadership, consultancy on power system dynamics, and delivery of solutions across energy management systems, stability tools, and control schemes. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
Fluent English and strong communication.
Fast learner with willingness to develop knowledge and robust research skills.
Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, verbally and in writing.
Willingness to develop leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Technical leadership on individual projects, delivering WAMPAC solutions, training, analysis, and workshops.
Act as a key link with customers, understanding needs and communicating with internal teams.
Contribute to design and development of core WAMS and Wide Area Protection and Control products, including algorithms and performance requirements.
Carry out consultancy analyses including static/dynamic studies and model validation.
Provide knowledge transfer and support to customers to maximize product usage.
Support sales through pre-sales activities and technical workshops.
Prepare technical reports and publications for conferences and journals.
Travel up to 25% for customer interaction and project meetings.
