Job summary

IF1874 GE Energy Power Conversion UK Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a recognised Power Systems expert with EMC knowledge to join our world-class engineering team. You will provide technical leadership, design MW-scale Power Systems, and influence strategy across Defence, Marine, Energy, and Industrial applications.

The role covers modelling, analysis and simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK and ETAP, ensuring compliance with EMC standards, safety rules, and class society requirements.

Qualifications

• Sole British citizenship with a valid British passport (UK Eyes only)
• Possession of or ability to obtain SC security clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject, or relevant industrial experience
• Knowledge of Power Electronic Converter system integration, and EMC impact and mitigation strategies
• Willing to travel within UK and overseas for short-term working
• Nice to have: Working towards or hold a CEng qualification

Responsibilities

• Be a recognised technical expert in Power Systems, associated components & equipment.
• Provide technical ownership to projects to support the development of safe, technically compliant, and cost-effective solutions at holistic Power System level.
• Modelling, analysis and simulation of Power Systems using MATLAB/SIMULINK and ETAP; develop equipment specifications and support system design.
• Ensure Power System designs comply with EMC standards, health & safety requirements, international standards, and class society rules where applicable.
• Support attainment of on-time delivery, cost, and quality targets; provide technical leadership in design, forecasting and resource estimation.
• Provide Power Systems application support & technical guidance to commercial and site teams.
