Job summary
GE Vernova is seeking a Power Systems Engineer in the Power Conversion & Storage business to model, analyse and validate power system architectures using advanced simulation tools. You will generate design documentation and support across the full project lifecycle, from tender through commissioning and in-service support.
The role requires hands-on experience with system studies (MATLAB, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD, eTAP or PSS/E) and the ability to travel UK and internationally for
Qualifications
- Sole British citizenship with eligibility for UK BPSS or SC clearance.
- Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in Power Systems engineering at equipment or system level.
- Proficiency with Power Systems simulation tools (MATLAB, DigSilent, eTAP, PSCAD or PSS/E).
Responsibilities
- Generate and validate system architectures including SLDs compliant with IEC, MIL and DEF STAN standards.
- Perform power systems studies: short circuit, load flow, harmonic, transient, insulation co-ordination, arc flash.
- Author equipment specifications and technical documents for LV/HV switchboards, generators, cables, transformers and drives.
- Capture system requirements; support verification of technical and contractual obligations.
- Provide technical support across the project lifecycle including commissioning and in-service support; travel within UK and abroad as needed.
